C.A.R.E. Goal Accomplished!

School-Wide Pajama Day Friday 12/23

Our students and staff members were challenged to fill a large jar in our office with C.A.R.E. tickets before the start of school vacation! We are proud to report that our students  filled the  C.A.R.E  jar by showing: Cooperation , Acceptance, Responsibility & Effort.

As a reward, our ENTIRE school community will celebrate our success with a Pajama Day on Friday, December 23rd! Please note that for safety reasons, students may not wear slippers or pajamas that cover their feet . We look forward to a fun celebration.

Winter Concert

Medway Middle School Grade 8 Chorus students will present their Winter Concert to our students on Friday, December 23rd. We look forward to their performance and to joining them in a sing along!

Reebok BOKS Program Update

In October, we launched a pilot session of the Reebok BOKS program at Memorial.  The 8 week program, which ran on Monday and Friday mornings before school, provided the opportunity for students to engage in fun and structured physical activities with their peers.  At the end of the program, students were provided with a certificate of completion and a BOKS water bottle, graciously funded by MFE.

A survey was sent out to parents asking for feedback on the program.  Comments included “I think this is a wonderful program. It has helped my kids have a great start to their day!” and “My child loved it! Great way to start the day. Feel she had more energy in the morning and throughout the day.”  We are pleased to share that 100% of parents who responded said they would register their child for another BOKS session in the future!

Are you interested in signing your child up for this great program?  Our spring session will begin on March 27th and run through May 26th.  Look for sign ups in early February!

Reminder to 4th Grade Families:

4th Grade Instrumental Program

Thanks to generous funding and support from our School Committee, $10,000 of seed funding has been set aside from our School Choice funds to start a 4th Grade Instrumental Program that will take place before and after school hours.  Lessons will take place in sectional groups (instrument alike) once per week- either in the morning or the afternoon - and there will also be one, large group, full 4th grade practice each week on Fridays before school. All practices will be approximately 30-45 minutes in length.

We ask that all 4th grade families please take a few moments to complete this survey by Wednesday, December 21, 2016 WHETHER OR NOT your child (ren) is/are interested in participating in this year's 4th Grade Instrumental Program.

Please click here for a link to the survey. Remember, this is for 4th grade families only.

Lost and Found

Our lost and found pile is growing. Please encourage your child to look through our collection of coats, mittens, hats and sweatshirts. We would love to have some of these items claimed before the holidays! Lost and found items are located outside of the cafeteria.

Holiday Wishes

On behalf of the entire Memorial School Community, we wish our students and their families a wonderful winter vacation filled with the warmth and love of family and the company of dear friends.  Wishing you all a happy and peaceful new year.
