OPENING DAY Medway Public Schools will reopen for students for the 2010-2011 school year on Wednesday, September 1, 2010, and will operate on a full-day schedule. Starting and dismissal times for the first day (with the exception of kindergarten and pre-kindergarten) and for the remainder of the school year are as follows: Grades 1 and 2 at McGovern Elementary School 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Grades 3 and 4 at Memorial Elementary School 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Grades 5-8 at Medway Middle School 7:40 a.m. to 1:58 p.m. Grades 9-12 at Medway High School 8:04 a.m. to 2:31 p.m. Please note that the above times may shift slightly as the new bus schedules fall into place. The pre-kindergarten and kindergarten orientation programs and first day of school dates can be found in the letters mailed home to parents. The starting and dismissal times for kindergarten and pre-kindergarten are as follows: Kindergarten at Burke Elementary School Full Day Kindergarten Program 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. 2 1/2 Day Kindergarten Program A Session: Monday Morning – 9:00 a.m. to 11:40 a.m. Wednesday and Friday – 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. B Session: Monday Afternoon – 12:20 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday – 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Pre-Kindergarten at Burke Elementary School 8:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. 8:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Substitute Teaching

Medway Public Schools is now accepting applications for substitute teaching for the 2010-2011 school year. In order to be considered for on-call substitute teaching you must be a college graduate and over 21 years of age. Anyone interested must submit a completed application form, copy of college transcripts, 3 letters of reference, and copy of certification if you hold current licensure to: Superintendent’s Office, Medway Public Schools, 45 Holliston Street, Medway, MA 02053; Attention: Ms. Carol Kopec. School Nurse Substitutes

Medway Public Schools is now accepting applications for school nurse substitutes for the 2010-2011 school year. Any licensed nurse interested must submit a completed application form, copy of nursing license, copy of college transcripts and 3 letters of reference to: Superintendent’s Office, Medway Public Schools, 45 Holliston Street, Medway, MA 02053; Attention: Ms. Carol Kopec.
