Superintendent Announcement ~ MHS Principal

Dear Medway families,

Let me begin by thanking you for your active engagement in our recent Medway High School Principal Search process.  As you may know, candidates for this position met with an interview committee that included teachers, students, parents, and administrators.  The committee moved forward three excellent candidates to participate in site visits in Medway. On the day of their visit, each candidate had the opportunity to learn more about Medway High School by meeting with teachers, students, parents, building and district leaders.  Candidates also participated in a community forum, where attendees were able to ask questions of each finalist. Finally, a team of teachers, a building administrator, and I were able to visit the high schools of two finalists.

We were very pleased by the high quality candidate pool that this process attracted and who expressed interest in Medway.  As was shared with the faculty of Medway High School earlier today, I am excited to announce that Dr. John Murray will serve as the next principal of Medway High School . The feedback that we received from all constituent groups throughout this process regarding the strength of Dr. Murray’s candidacy has been very positive.  In addition, the faculty and staff at Lexington High School also provided feedback that articulated Dr. Murray’s excellent skills.

While his work in Medway will not officially begin until July, Dr. Murray will work closely with Mr. McCarron and the high school team to ensure a smooth transition.  We will look to host a community reception to welcome Dr. Murray to Medway later this year.

Sincerely,

Armand Pires, Ph.D.

Superintendent
