January Updates

We have some important dates on our late January and February calendar, and we want to share them with you.

Math Mornings

We want to focus on Math and fun Math activities that can be dupicated at home to reinforce important skills. We also want to include families that find it difficult to attend evening events at school. Therefore, we have planned two dates to celebrate and enjoy MATH with all kindergarten and first grade students. (A date for preschool will be announced in the very near future.)

On Thursday, February 2nd from 9:15 - 10:30, all K students and their families will be welcomed into their classsrooms to play math games. Parents are invited to join in the fun, but all students will be able to participate nevertheless.

The same process will take place on Tuesday, February 7th from 9:15 - 10:30 for all first grade students. More information will be coming home on classroom websites but consider all K and grade one familes invited to join in the math activities with their child(ren) if they can. You can sign in at the office and then proceed to your child's classroom where the math games will begin. Then you can accompany your child to three more classrooms and three more activities.

We hope to have a good turnout as we attempt to vary our usual routine and initiate a morning event for families.

Preschool and Kindergarten Registration

We are excited to invite families to register their children for preschool and/or kindergarten on two upcoming dates. McGovern will host registration on Tuesday, February 28th from 3:30 - 6 p.m. and on Saturday, March 4th from 9 -12 in our library.

Registration packets will be available at McGovern beginning on February 1st for any child who is a Medway resident and eligible for K or who is a typical student and who will be at least 3 years of age this coming year.

Please call the office if you have any questions as we want to warmly welcome you to the Medway Public Schools.
