Sixth Grade Movie Series: March 8, 2018

The Student Activities Group and the 6th Grade is happy to announce the 2nd Movie in the 6th Grade Movie Series.  In Social Studies, students are finishing up their unit on the Lost Boys of Sudan and we are now excited to invite you to the movie The Good Lie, Thursday, March 8th at 6:30pm in the auditorium at the Middle School.  Like last time, this is a completely free event, all that we require is a signed permission slip because the movie is rated PG-13.  More information about the movie is on the permission slip for parents. The Good Lie is a “based on real events” movie that chronicles three fictional Lost Boys of Sudan as they are forced to flee from their homes in Sudan as young boys through sub-Saharan Africa and eventually to a better life here in America.  The film stars three men, all of whom are actual, real-life Lost Boys of Sudan. The stories told in the film, while fictional, are composed from numerous, real-life accounts of different Lost Boys and Lost Girls.

Again, this event is free, but we ask those that are able and willing to make a small donation to ImpactAVillage.  This organization works on projects around the world, but we specifically donate money to the first and only school for girls in Southern Sudan.  In the past 5 years, we have raised over $7,000 and we hope to continue that tradition as the school is on the verge of becoming the only one in the country with electricity!!  Cash or checks made out to the Middle School will be accepted. Thank you!
