grants provided help teachers develop and implement
supplementary classroom and speaking programs that are
unable to be funded in the yearly school budget.
Dr. Judith Evans, Medway
superintendent of schools, said, “Once again, the MFE
has demonstrated its dedication and commitment to our
school system. The group has been instrumental in
significantly enhancing the quality of our educational
programs. We need and welcome their ongoing help in
achieving our learning goals.”
Richard Kahn, MFE
co-president, said, “It’s gratifying to put these funds
to work. This is money that has been generously given by
residents through various fundraising efforts and
private donations. Their dollars are being put to good
use in a number of special programs that strengthen the
learning process.”
Residents interested in
volunteering for MFE activities should contact Rich Kahn

Formed during the summer
of 2002, the Medway Foundation for Education (MFE) is a
non-profit organization charged with raising capital to
fund innovative, educational projects throughout
Medway’s public schools. Using moneys generated from
community events, contributions, and educational grants,
MFE allocates funds through a grant process to
teacher-sponsored projects that dramatically impact the
quality of education that students receive.
Since its inception, the
all-volunteer organization has raised more than
$250,000. A total of over $150,000 in grants has been
awarded in recent years. The MFE also raises funds
through a yearly phone-a-thon and trivia bee. More
