November 6, 2018 Community Update

Dear Medway families,

Last week brought tragedy to both our local communities and those across the nation.  Our thoughts continue to be with those mourning the loss of our former student, Shayla Lynch, as well as those throughout the nation who grieve in the wake of the Pittsburgh tragedy.  Our district work to support the social and emotional wellness of our students, faculty, and staff as well as ensure dignity and respect for all has only been further reinforced by this past week’s events.

We hope that you will join us in collaboration and learning in the coming weeks by taking part in our Cultural Proficiency Self Evaluation Survey and attending a special Medway and Franklin hosted T.H.R.I.V.E. event on Wednesday, November 14, 2018.  Details connected with this event as well as other district updates can be found below.

Sincerely,

Armand Pires, Ph.D.

Superintendent

Please consider joining us at one of the following times:
  • Monday, November 19, 2018 from 6:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in the Medway High School library, 88 Summer Street,  prior to town meeting.
  • Thursday, November 29, 2018 from 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Medway High School guidance office, 88 Summer Street.

After 30 years with the McGovern School, Mrs. Eileen Berset, school secretary, retired on Wednesday, October 31.  During their annual Halloween Safety event at McGovern, Mrs. Berset was showered with cards, flowers, singing and a lot of care and support from the entire McGovern School community.  Mrs. Berset has been a tremendous asset to the Medway Schools for all these years.
