Superintendent's Update

Dear Medway Families,

As I write to you today, I find myself reflecting on the events of the week and what best to share during this unusual and challenging time.  First, I want to share that during last night’s School Committee meeting (aired via Zoom, and through Medway Cable Access), I offered heartfelt gratitude to all of our faculty and staff, our leadership team, our facilities, food services, student services, information services, and business, facilities and operations teams for the incredible efforts that they have contributed in support of our students and community.  We have provided more than 150 students with access to technology tools in support of their learning and connection, served daily meals to more than 50 students, and shifted our experience of in-person classroom instruction and support to the virtual world. I have been truly humbled by the professionalism, care, and concern that every member of our team has demonstrated.

Our educational staff has also been very busy planning meaningful learning experiences for our students.  By Monday, March 23, all students will receive, through email or Google Classroom, outreach from their teachers.  We have also created a central site for all of our School Closure Resources and Supports which will include alternate enhancement student learning plans each week.  This site can be accessed through our website, www.medwayschools.org under the Welcome message on the main page or through this link.

I expect that the transition to a virtual educational experience will bring both successes and some challenges.  I encourage families to stay in touch with our teachers and school leaders to communicate questions, successes, and concerns.  These are uncharted waters and we are all learning as we go; please be patient as we navigate this new reality together.

Below please find some additional updates and information that you might find useful.

Sincerely,
